Sir Piers

A multi-talented DJ, producer, songwriter and musician, Sir Piers needs little introduction these days as he continues to evolve as the most consistent dj/producer in the UK. So far best known for a long line of  timeless house masterpieces over the last 8 years. The best is yet to come as he prepares to release an incredible first album this summer including co-writes with Level 42 among others! Below we update you on his flourishing DJ career as well as a fountain of music to look forward to ….

His productions and remixes travel in the record bags of the best in the business: From diverse exaples such as MAW, Tony Humphries, Miguel Migs, Bob Sinclar, Martin Solveig, and Joey Negro to Pete Tong, Ben Watt, , Roger Sanchez, Simon Dunmore, Dj Spinna and Seb Fontaine. Just a few champions of his sound and, whether producing as Sir Piers or under his Tarantulaz, SummerHeadz or DirtDiggers monikers, Piers has carved a niche for himself in underground house circles as well as in dance scenes across genres as an artist of exceptional ability and promise.

Those he has worked with and remixed reads like a ‘who’s who’ of today’s scene. Roy Ayers, Groove Armada, Todd Terry, A Tribe Called Quest, Jocelyn Brown, Ananda Project, Lauryn Hill, Kings of Tomorrow and Basement Boys have all received the Sir Piers touch, as have Snoop Dogg, Pharrell, Beyonce & Jay-Z, Stevie Wonder, A Tribe Called Quest, Alicia Keys, Angie Stone, Gwen Stefani, Jill Scott and Lionel Richie, reinforcing Piers’ ability to transcend genres whilst maintaining the soulful edge he has become renowned for.

Piers recently head lined several parties in Miami including OM’s show stealing party and Mn2s Opium Garden sell out! These shows saw him play alongside Collette, Dj Heather, Mark Grant, Andy Caldwell, Jask and John Julius Knight among others. The busy curious head man is just back from another whirlwind tour of  the states that followed Miami’s WMC. The masses are continuing to flock to Piers’s exclusive monthly residency at the famous Neighbourhood club in London. Widely revered as the benchmark for underground house nights in the UK capital while, internationally, Piers regularly takes his technically-brilliant DJ sets to the US – where he tours over 10 cities at a time playing alongside the likes of Louie Vega, Blaze, Miguel Migs. His popularity continues to grow in Australia, Asia and all over Europe too. Just a few of his favourite flight paths include shows in Portugal, Russia, Dubai and Jakarta! Last summer Ibiza was treated to one particular awe inspiring set at the celebrated beachside Bora Bora for Mn2S further proof of Piers’ increasing international appeal.

While his memorable releases on labels like Mn2s, Jive Electro, King Street and Purple Music have received widespread critical acclaim, it has been Piers’ singles released on his home-grown imprint Curious that have really set tongues wagging. Club smashes such as ‘Don’t You Love Me’ and ‘Fool’s Got Nothin’’ featuring Monique Bingham have both enjoyed worldwide success, while his new collaboration with the sultry songbird – ‘They Forgot It’ – is gaining huge support ahead of its imminent release on San Francisco’s OM Records this February, complete with remixes by Marques Wyatt and Domu this is being hammered by those lucky few with a copy and is yet another example of Piers’ quality writing skills and his unique outlook for a catchy yet credible song.

2007 holds the biggest surprise yet for his loyal fans as Piers puts the finishing touches on his hugely- anticipated artist album which will include some mind-blowing collaborations with Level 42, Frank Mcomb, Monique Bingham, Shaun Escoffery, Robert Owens, Los Amigos Invisibles and other brilliant like-minded talent from around the world. Watch this space, for Sir Piers is just getting started.
